Automatic screw press SCRUPRESS

A range of screw presses with compact design for automatic dewatering.

The SCRUPRESS® is composed of an inclined three stages (draining / thickening / dewatering) wedge wire drum, with a special conical screw inside and a pneumatic counter-pressure cone installed at the end,  fully automatic and controlled by a PLC.  The dewatering action is tuned up via a pneumatic counter-pressure cone, while the VFD takes care to increase/reduce automatically the speed of the internal screw, so to optimize and keep the performance constant, also in case of variation of the inlet sludge’s concentration.  A movable washing ring with spray nozzles (designed to reduce the wash water consumption) together with a special rubber wiper fixed on the flight edge, keeps the screw press filter drum clean from the external and internal sides, so to grant the maximum efficiency in terms of permeability.

STAGE 01 DRAINING

STAGE 02 THICKENING

Thanks to a progressive and gentle compression of the sludge against the wedge wire surface, the sludge is gradually thickened in the second section having 0.4 mm spacing.

STAGE 03 DEWATERING

The screw press dewatering process final stage is where, with 0.15 mm wedge wire spacing, the sludge is definitely pressed by means of a counter pressure cone, reaching high results in dryness.

MACHINE BODY

SCRUPRESS® is a completely encapsulated and odourless system with a cylinder for the air extraction. The screw press has several side doors and covers for the inspection and maintenance of the system which have, together with the whole machine body, a low noise level <70 dB (A).

DEWATERING DRUM WITH CONICAL SCREW

The TEKNOFANGHI screw press has a fixed drum with conical screw inside which represents a more reliable solution where only the replacement of the gasket fixed on the screw spiral is required. Wear and vibrations are minimal due to the low compaction screw speed of <2.7 rpm.

To press the sludge carried by the auger, a pneumatically controlled pressure cone guarantees to the screw press a constant dewatering with very low energy consumption compared to other dewatering technologies.

SCREW PRESS WASHING RING

The water consumption for washing is very low, thanks to a moving ring which slides in two directions along the drum with nozzles positioned at 360 ° for a complete external cleaning only where needed. Internally the screw press drum is self-cleaning thanks to a special rubber gasket between the drum and the internal auger.

CONTROL PANEL WITH PLC

The control panel has a PLC that comunicates with a  pressure sensor and a VFD to regulate the speed of the screw inside the drum. Thanks to this system the screw press obtain excellent results in terms of dry solids.
